The end of tax season is fast approaching. This year the tax return filing deadline, or Tax Day, falls on April 18, 2023. If you received Social Security benefits, you should have received an annual Benefit Statement, also known as the SSA-1099 or the SSA-1042S. A Benefit Statement shows the total amount of benefits an individual received from Social Security in the previous year, so they know how much Social Security income to report to the IRS on their tax return.
If you misplaced your Benefit Statement, you can instantly get a replacement form with a personal my Social Security account.
Visit our Information for Tax Preparers webpage to learn more.
CDC continues to recommend that everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines for their age group, which varies for children and teens aged 6 months–17 years and adults aged 18 years and older. It is also advised that you continue to get your COVID-19 vaccine even after recovering from COVID-19 infection, as it still provides added protection.
In addition, CDC recommends 1 updated booster dose for everyone aged 5 years and older who completed their primary series, and children aged 6 months through 4 years who completed the Moderna primary series.
For more information on staying up to date with the COVID-19 vaccine, visit the CDC website. Click here to learn about getting your vaccine or booster through VA.
